I love quilts... the heavy warmth they offer, the varying colors, the intricate designs, and most importantly the stories and memories that are associated with the different prints and fabrics used. My grandmother is such an accomplished quilter and has so much information to pass along, it's all so very overwhelming for me, but she doesn't even consider the absolute talent and skill that she posesses! It's wonderful to listen to her talk about the many varying patterns she has tried and all of the many quilts that she has made over the past 60 years or so.
I've tried to collect as many of her works of art that I can.... she just thinks I'm being stingy, but I think I'm preserving the past and her many hours of love and labor that she has poured into those wonderful cozy quilts.
